MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENT 

  • Masters in a relevant field with minimum 2 year of experience in a related field (or)
  • Degree in relevant field with minimum 3 year of experience in a related field.


OVERALL SCOPE

Responsible of managing and providing technical support to perform the functions of Strategic Urban Planning.


SCOPE OF WORK 

  • Lead and oversee specific allocated projects involving researching, monitoring and developing key policy areas, including housing, development controls, climate change, city building and built environment.
  • Provide support and advise on a wide range of urban development policy work, including planning applications, and oversee the development and review of development plan policy and guidance.
  • Lead the response to consultations on national legislation policies, land use regulations, regional policies and development guidelines.
  • Direct and manage a range of planning and urban design projects, including design and feasibility studies and concepts, vision plans, master plans, specific plans, community plans, development standards and guidelines.
  • Facilitate collaboration with and guide multi-disciplinary teams, stakeholders and community in addressing land use, mobility, infrastructure economics and urban related issues.
  • Lead projects from start to finish across all phases of a project, including research, analysis, design/concept development, preparation of final documents, public presentations and public outreach.
  • Supervise the utilization of computer aided drawing and graphic software to run modeling studies, create illustrations for planning and design standards and guidelines, presentations, work sessions and other deliverables.


JOB SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

  • Advanced experience with AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch Up or other 3-D modelling tools.
  • Experience working with urban controls, and development guidelines.
  • Experience working in built environment field involving design and planning standard and guidelines.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-based culture, with experience supporting interdisciplinary teams working through flexible hours.
  • Excellent written, verbal and graphic communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized.
