MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENT 

  • O'Level / A'Level with minimum 5 years of experience in in marine operations, including hands-on experience with landing craft or similar vessels. 
  • Valid Sea Vessel Captain License. 
  • Government-issued Vessel Operating License of not less than 250 tons. 
  • Successful completion of NIYAMI Course
  • Experience will be considered only upon submission of an official reference letter explicitly stating the duration of employment.


OVERALL SCOPE

Responsible for the safe navigation, operation, and overall command of the landing craft, ensuring the safety of crew, cargo, and passengers while maintaining full compliance with maritime regulations and company policies.


SCOPE OF WORK 

  • Command and navigate landing craft safely across various marine environments. 
  • Supervise, manage, and coordinate all onboard crew activities. 
  • Ensure the vessel, engines, and all onboard equipment are maintained in optimal working condition at all times. 
  • O Operate and monitor engines, winches, navigation systems, and safety equipment including firefighting and lifesaving appliances. 
  • Plan and follow designated routes, ensuring adherence to operational instructions and schedules. 
  • Monitor weather, tides, and sea conditions to ensure safe voyage planning and execution. 
  • Measure and record water depths and maintain awareness of navigational hazards. 
  • Ensure adequate levels of fuel, hydraulic fluids, and other essential supplies prior to and during voyages.
  • Communicate effectively with other vessels using appropriate signaling systems (lights, sound signals, radio communication).
  • Oversee cargo operations, including loading, unloading, and proper weight distribution to maintain vessel stability.
  • Maintain accurate logs of vessel movements, positions, and voyage details.
  • Tow and maneuver barges when required.
  • Address and resolve operational or customer-related issues professionally.
  • Coordinate emergency response procedures when necessary.


JOB SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

  • Mechanical familiarity with basic mechanic training is compulsory. 
  • Ability to plan and schedule voyages as required and complete tasks before deadlines.
  • Ability to check and identify weather condition in advance.
  • Ability and knowledge for the inter atoll reefs and islands in the Maldives.
  • Necessary qualifications and Certificates for Fire and Safely, Navigation and Climate.
  • Solid understanding of maritime safety standards, regulatory requirements, and seaworthiness principles.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities under operational pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with operations teams.
  • Should maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Should be able to priorities tasks and manage one's own time effectively.
