Senior Audit Officer

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENT 

• Degree in Auditing/Accounting or an equivalent qualification (such as Completing ACCA skill level) with minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting/Auditing/relevant field (or)
• Advanced Diploma in Auditing/Accounting or an equivalent qualification with minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting/Auditing/relevant field.
• Experience will be considered only upon submission of an official reference letter explicitly stating the duration of employment.

OVERALL SCOPE

Provide a full range of financial, compliance, and operational audits, investigations, internal control structures, accountability, and use of resources ensuring they align with the best practice of industry in executing company’s business and financial operations.

SCOPE OF WORK 

• Prepare risk-based audit plans for financial, regulatory, compliance, operational, follow-up and investigation audits with the directions of section Head/Manager.
• Lead planned audit engagements and prepare timely audit reports for executive management, the Audit committee and the Board of Directors.
• Perform audit procedures to verify that controls are operating through testing, analytical thinking, professional skepticism and interviewing techniques. 
• Document the results of work in accordance with the standards set.
• Coordinate work with Risk, Legal & Compliance and other control-related activities and with others within Internal Audit.
• Identify control gaps and opportunities for improvement.
• Report significant risk exposures and control issues, including fraud risks, governance issues and other matters needed or requested by the Audit committee.
• Review the subordinates works to assess the work performed is in accordance with the professional standards, internal audit manual and ensure that the working papers and evidence has been properly documented.
• Provide feedback and supervise the performance of subordinates with direction of Head of Section/ Manager.
• Provide advice on internal control and participates in enhancing internal audit standards and practices within HDC.
• Contribute, as appropriate, in the year-end financial audit with the external auditor.
• Research new or technical subjects when required to support audits.

JOB SKILLS AND SPECIFICATIONS

• Familiar with Accounting or Audit Software(s) will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Administration and Clerical work.
• Should be an effectual communicator verbally as well as through writing skills.
• Should be well organized, detail-oriented, forward thinking and proactive.
• Able to critically analyze and forward thinking with a positive and result oriented attitude. 
• Discretion and need for Confidentiality.
• Should be familiar with Microsoft office pack.
• Computer Typing Skills (Dhivehi/English).
